When an honest person tries to do what is right, all they get is nothing but excuses. I forgot, or I will do it later, or not right now, or doing things just to get them done quickly, even if it is not done right or completely finished.
Along with the useless excuses comes the lack of respect people have for others. What is in it for me? If I have an agenda or want something someone else has, then that is ok, but don’t you dare ask a simple thing from me in return is the attitude most people have.
The most favorite useless excuse is I will do it tomorrow or later then it never gets done. Or having to harass someone just to do simple things they should already know how to do and just do it, and do it right.
I am sixty years old and should be relaxing while the youth does things I have done a lot of my life. But no, the youth today wants the elderly to kill themselves, doing what they themselves have the energy to do but just too lazy to do, unless it benefits them. Another useless excuse is well so and so does it this way so this is the way we have to do it. Or so and so drives miles and miles to buy something that can be purchased nearby so we have to do it.
I am not so and so and this is not so and so’s family it is ok to look at other people to get ideas but financially and otherwise we are not the same. This is a useless excuse I get sick of hearing too.
If so and so is so great why are they not over helping a disabled old man and his wife? As a youth I spent many hours helping out my mom because my mom and dad were not physically able to and I saved them money too.
Now that it is my turn to be helped all I get is excuses. I forgot, or this or that thing.
Jesus helped the poor and the sick and the lame and the blind. He had very little to do with those who were rich, well off or could help themselves. So why is it today that people professing Christianity has this what’s in it for me attitude?
We need to examine ourselves and find out are we on the right track and doing what we are supposed to be doing? Or are we just making excuses for not doing what we are called to do? That is what I mean when I say Excuses are useless.
