The question is what is Grace? Is it some ones name or just a word to be thrown around? The answer is that no it is not a word to be thrown around and I am not talking about some ones name.
In Christian theology, Grace has been defined as “the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it”,[1] “the condescension or benevolence shown by God toward the human race”.[2] It is understood by Christians to be a spontaneous gift from God to man – “generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved”[3] – that takes the form of divine favor, love, clemency, and a share in the divine life of God. This means UN warranted favor. In other words no matter what we do or think we can never be good enough to stand in Gods presents. We are born in our sins and all including me deserve to be cast into the lake of fire.
We cannot do good works to get to heaven. That will never work. We cannot be baptized, and think that is part of the formula for salvation. That will not work because it is works. Works will never save anyone. It is by the Grace of God through faith we are saved. It takes the wonderful attribute of the Grace of God to save us. Because of His Grace he loved us so much that he sent his only begotten Son to save us by Jesus dying on the Cross and rising up from the dead the third day, Conquering death, Now that is Grace in its purest form. Jesus could have backed out anytime he wanted to. But he went through all his pain and suffering because of his Love and yes Grace towards us.
For by Grace are we saved through faith, it is the gift of God. Not of works lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9. It is the Grace of God through Jesus Christ alone that saves us. Nothing less and there is nothing more. Jesus did it all for us. It is a free gift from God and Jesus is the only way to the Father. So if someone tries to tell you there are other ways, they lie.
Are you saved by Grace? Have you confessed your sin to the Savior asking for forgiveness? Asking Jesus to come into your heart or life, to be the Lord of your Life? If not I urge you to do so now before it is too late. You cannot say I will wait until later, because later may never come. Once you die and this life is not guaranteed to us, it is too late, your fate is sealed. So please come to Jesus and accept his free gift of Salvation. Jesus loves you. If he could love someone like me and He does he can love anyone, and he does.
